Bulletin Board Policy
JCPL bulletin boards, business card holders, and pamphlet racks in our foyers serve as a medium of communication between the Library and the public and serve to promote the Library.
While first considerations are given to needs of the Library, notices of nonprofit civic, cultural or educational organizations may be accepted for display as space permits. Political advertisements shall not be accepted for display.
Individuals or nonprofit groups may advertise items or services for sale as space permits. Each library will set its own limitations to meet its own unique space needs. Bulletin boards should not detract from the appearance of the library. Notices may not extend beyond the frame of the bulletin board.
Notices need approval by the Library prior to posting. The Library reserves the right to determine what shall be exhibited.
Posting of materials in the Library does not necessarily indicate the Library's endorsement of the issue or event promoted by those materials.
All notices and displays are posted at the risk of the person or group, and the Library bears no responsibility for damage to notices or for their unauthorized removal from the display areas.
Containers for monetary contributions may not be placed in the Library. The only types of merchandising permitted are sales or activities for which the Library is the beneficiary.
Questions concerning the posting of any specific notice, poster or other material should be referred to the Agency Librarian who may consult with the Director when necessary.
