DeMotte Library displays artwork of Doris Myers
Wheatfield artist Doris Myers is known for capturing the loveliness of her surroundings on canvas.
During the months of March and April, the DeMotte Library is proud to display several landscapes created by Myers on the library’s art wall, bringing vivid color and life to the library as seen through this talented artist’s eyes.
Myers holds a BS degree from Valparaiso University and an MA from Ball State University. After teaching for 23 years in the Kankakee Valley School system, she retired in 1984 to pursue her love of art through demonstrations and workshops
She continues to study art and by experimenting with a variety of styles and subject matter, she maintains a freshness of vision and “reinvents” herself in many ways. Her artwork has won many awards and is seen in many homes and businesses.
You can read more about Myers in this March 2012 article from the Post-Tribune.
