We wish you a very crafty holiday

Dipping candy canes in chocolate makes a tasty peppermint stick with a twist.

Our annual stocking stuffer craft program at the Rensselaer Library was a ton of fun Tuesday night. Participants crafted their way through four of the projects in the Martha Stewart website, including glittered ornaments, glittered gift tags, bath fizzies and "Peppermint sticks with a twist," pictured, which is sure to become a favorite in some households.

This class is a great chance for families to slow down and spend a little time with their kids and work on projects sure to build holiday memories. This is our second year and we are glad to see the program growing!

If you want to find the recipes and try these crafts yourselves, you can browse the Martha Stewart website, but we will be happy to share one secret: our bath bombs recipe actually came from Lynden House International, and we went one step further and added a tablespoon of melted coconut oil to each batch.

There are other craft programs for all ages going on this month at the library. Check to see what's going on at your location.

Wishing you a peaceful and happy holiday season.
