Celebrate National Library Week April 14-20

This week, Jasper County Public Library, located in Rensselaer, DeMotte and Wheatfield, joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.

April 2013 means spring has finally come to the area. What spring activities can you get involved in?

In preparing for a Harry Potter-themed party, a staff member this week introduced the rest of us to the wonders of Madam Rosmerta's Butterbeer Cupcakes.

April 14-20 is National Library Week. You may wonder to yourself what the big deal is.  Well I’ll tell you why it’s a big deal.  Libraries are awesome! 

Once in a blue moon,” you “go for broke” and “race against the clock” to find that perfect book to read, and when you do, you realize that you “can’t judge a book by its cover,” because as you read it, you think to yourself, “it’s all Greek to me.”

There's plenty to do in March. We change time zones, celebrate Easter and spring, plus there's always something happening at the Library!

Wheatfield artist Doris Myers is known for capturing the loveliness of her surroundings on canvas.

If you love movies (and I do!) when you go to the movies one of the best parts, at least for me- are the trailers for the upcoming new movie releases. 

I like to try new things and go to new places, and agree with the late, great Dr. Seuss when he said, “There’s no limit to how much you’ll know depending how far beyond zebra you go.”
