Like most kids, I often wondered what I would be when I grew up. I thought being a secretary would be a great job, but I was really worried, because I knew that secretaries had to learn to write in shorthand.

There's nothing worse than waiting for school to start and counting down the last few days of freedom like the last grape Skittles in the bag.

These days, bundling is the favorite buzzword of insurance companies, phone and cable companies and other merchants as they try to get your business by giving you the option to “bundle” all of your purchases into one tidy package. At the Jasper County Public Library, we offer bundles too.

Ray Bradbury, who died Sunday, was one of those authors of my childhood, along with Asimov and King, who made me fall in love with the short story, and with twist endings, and sci-fi.
