Summer Reading Kick Off Week

This summer, young children are invited to “Dig Into Reading” at the Jasper County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. Each branch of JCPL will be offering weekly programs, beginning with the following:

Tuesday, June 4 @ 10 am, children who have completed grades K-4 and who are signed up for Summer Reading will watch a movie and make a craft project @ the Wheatfield Library.

Tuesday, June 11, Indiana Wild’s Alligator Aaron will visit the Wheatfield Library @ 10 am, where children who have completed grades K-4 who are signed up for Summer Reading are invited to attend and the DeMotte Library @ 2 pm, where children age 4 through grade 4 who are signed up for Summer Reading are invited to attend.

Wednesday, June 12 @ 10 am, age toddler through teen who are signed up for Summer Reading are invited to attend an Ice Cream Social at the Rensselaer Library.

Registration is required to participate in the Jasper County Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs.

DeMotte Summer Reading 2013

Kids in Preschool through grade 4 are invited to come to the DeMotte Library’s “Dig Into Reading!” Summer Reading Program, beginning in June.

With the extra incentives of prizes and fun, weekly programs for kids of this age that are held in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program, children in this age group will be excited to read, read, read during the summer months.

Kids signed up for “Dig into Reading!” will enjoy entertaining programs that will be held each Tuesday at 2 pm, beginning on June 11.

Registrations begin on May 13 and are open to age 4 through grade 4. Preschool children attending the Summer Reading Program must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Summer Reading packets, complete with the reading elements required to be eligible for prizes awarded during and at the end of the program, will be available for pick up at the library beginning Monday, June 3.

Rensselaer Summer Reading 2013

Children age toddler through grade 5 won’t want to miss the fun at the Rensselaer Library this summer, as this year’s Summer Reading theme is “Dig Into Reading!”

Beginning in June, children may sign up to participate in this year’s program, where fun, weekly programs will be held and reading books will earn them the chance to win prizes.

Programs will be held on Wednesdays, and are open to children registered for Summer Reading. Children in this age group are also invited to attend weekly craft programs, held from 3:30-4:30 pm each Thursday, June 13-July 11. Toddlers signed up for the program must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Teens in grades 6-12 are also eligible to participate in the library’s “Beneath the Surface” Summer Reading Event, and weekly programs that are appropriate for this age group will be held on Tuesdays @ 2 pm. For more information, check out our Teen Summer Reading page.

“Dig Into Reading!” Summer Reading packets that contain the required reading elements to complete the program may be picked up at the library June 3-8.

Programs will be held each Wednesday at 10 am, and are open to children registered for Summer Reading. Toddlers signed up for the program must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Kids who have completed grades K-4 are invited to come into the Wheatfield Library during this week to register for our Summer Reading Program whose theme is "Dig into Reading".

Kids preschool thru 5th grade are invited to the Rensselaer Library's "Dig into Reading" Summer Reading Program beginning in June.  Registration begins June 4th. Summer Reading Program ends Wed. July 17th. You may register online or at the library.

Children and teens who are signed up for Summer Reading are invited to attend oue annual Ice Cream Social kickoff at the Rensselaer Library.

Jun 13, 3:30-4 p.m. (Thursdays, June 13, 20, 27 & July 11 3:30 p.m.)

Children K thru 5th grade can join us on Thursdays during Summer Reading for Make it/Take it crafts.

Stop by and join us for a quick craft that will take 15 to 20 min. to complete.
