There are plenty of things to do this month, in Jasper County and at your Library!
From the Little Cousin Jasper Festival in Rensselaer (Sept. 6-8) and the Sandhill Festival and Car Show in Wheatfield (Sept. 21) to the National Library Card Month and Banned Books week celebrations at the library (all month long), you can get out, see some entertainment, read some new books and maybe make some new friends.

September 9 It's National Grandparents Day. Invite your grandparents  to the library for the day, or write them a card.
September 13 Roald Dahl , author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach, was born in 1916. Did you know? Each of these books have been banned by schools and libraries at some point in history. Ask at your library to find out why!
September 15 Tomie DePaola , author and illustrator of over 200 children's books is born in 1934

September 21 Sandhill Festival and Car Show  is today in Wheatfield!
September 22 Autumn  Begins! Today is also Elephant  Appreciation Day and Hobbit  Day. (Our hobbit books and movies are in the main section of the library.
