Each library in the JCPL system has subject areas in which they collect more comprehensively. This enables the system to have more materials in these heavily used areas, without duplicating resources at each of the branches.
Business -- The Rensselaer Library currently has an extensive business collection in both Reference and circulating titles. The Business Reference collection is found on an index table behind the Reference desk. These materials include business directories, almanacs, financial materials, statistics, sourcebooks and more.
Grants -- The Rensselaer Library has added several new titles for grantseekers, such as the Foundation Directory, Foundation Grants to Individuals, Annual Register of Grant Support, and more.
Biographical Reference -- The DeMotte Library currently has a collection of biographical reference materials.
Humanities -- The DeMotte Library houses an assortment of items in the field of humanities.
Law -- The DeMotte Library's legal collection includes West's Encyclopedia of American Law and the Indiana Administrative Code.
Medical and Health -- The Wheatfield Library collects heavily in both circulating and reference titles dealing with health and medicine.
