In addition to the programs featured here, we also do special events for Teen Tech Week, Teen Read Week, Children’s Book Week, National Library Week and National Library Card Month…as well as other programs throughout the year. Afternoon Adventure Club - After School Program

Grades K-5

Stop in at the DeMotte Library on the 3rd Thursday of every month from September to April to enjoy snacks, books, activities, and crafts based around a theme.

Anime Club

Anime Club

Join us on the last Wednesday of the month at the Rensselaer Library for Anime Club. We will be discussing anime films and series and watching various anime. Open to teens and adults. Bring a friend and come join the fun.

Basic Computer Classes

Every month one location at the Jasper County Public Library offers computer classes ranging from computer basics to advanced programs like excel and power point. The location and teachers vary from month to month.

Book Buddies

Grades 3-5

Kids in grades 3-5 are invited to join us at the Rensselaer Library for our “Book Buddies” Book Club meetings, held every three months.

Book Discussions at Wheatfield

Wheatfield's monthly book discussion group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 pm. Come celebrate each December with a carry-in dinner before our discussion for those who can come to eat together. Light refreshments otherwise at the meetings.

Chat & Chew

Special programs are scheduled for teens every month at the Rensselaer Library during the school year. This program is free and open to all interested teens. All materials will be provided. Space is limited.

Crochet & Knitter Gatherings

Fourth Thursday Book Club

You're invited to attend our adult book discussions. The discussions are held at 1 p.m. in the Rensselaer Library conference room** on the 4th Thursday in January through October and the 3rd Thursday in November. There is no discussion in December.  Read on for the list of 2017 titles.

Health Screenings

The Jasper County Library has partnered with local care providers to offer free or low-cast health screenings each month for patrons. Usually free, special services may be offered at some locations for a small fee.
