Make-It Take-It

Grades 4-6

Come to the DeMotte Library the second Tuesday of every month from September to April (except for December). Join us for crafts to take home relating to the month's theme.

Reading Shorts

Welcome to Wheatfield Library's Reading Shorts program. This program, aimed at adults, has been gathering a small but loyal crowd at the library as Wheatfield Branch Manager Diana Kooy reads aloud selections from literary magazines such as The New Yorker as well as a variety of short stories from across a wide range of genres. Rensselaer Summer Reading 2013

Children age toddler through grade 5 won’t want to miss the fun at the Rensselaer Library this summer, as this year’s Summer Reading theme is “Dig Into Reading!”

Rensselaer Teen Summer Reading 2013

Teens in grades 6-12 are eligible to participate in the library’s “Beneath the Surface” Summer Reading Event. Reading books will earn the chance to win prizes and weekly programs for this age group will be held on Tuesdays @ 2 pm.

Riley Read

Each October, join the Rensselaer Library in a community tradition as we celebrate the work of Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley.

Riley, who penned the well-known Americana poem Little Orphant Annie, also wrote the poem Little Cousin Jasper, for which the town festival is named.

Spring Festival

Celebrate Spring at the DeMotte Library on the Friday of National Library Week, held each April. Dates vary. Take part in games, a cake walk, Bingo, face painting and more!

Story Time

Ages 3-5

Bring your youngsters in touch with the love of reading by coming to Story Time for 3-5 Year Olds at the Wheatfield Library. Story Time is a wonderful opportunity for your youngsters to become acquainted with the library.

Each half hour long session of Story Time consists of stories, crafts, and other age appropriate activities.
