Summer Reading 2016

Let the programs begin!

All three branches of the Jasper County Public Library invite children, teens and adults of all ages to enjoy events and programs during this year’s Summer Reading Program.

Online sign up is available for some locations, or sign up at your library starting June 1. Events and programs at DeMotte, Rensselaer and Wheatfield start the week of June 6.

Wheatfield Teen Book Club

Open to teens in grades 6-12, discussions planned for the 3rd or 4th Thursday every month, depending on how many weeks are in the month. Come and discuss books with fellow readers and discover other ways to connect to books you love, including food from books and activities pulled from the books you read.

Tuesday Night Movies at Rensselaer

This program is held at 5:30 p.m. -- usually on the second Tuesday every month. (In October it will be shown on the second Wednesday because of the Fall Festival).  A variety of movies, newly released to DVD, are shown.  Popcorn and beverages are served. This program is open to teens through adults.

Anime Club

Anime Club

Join us on the last Wednesday of the month at the Rensselaer Library for Anime Club. We will be discussing anime films and series and watching various anime. Open to teens and adults. Bring a friend and come join the fun.

Junior Scribes

Writers in grades 3-12 are invited to join us each month for creative writing prompts and exercises to improve your skills and have fun with writing.

Join us the first Monday of the month from 6-7pm in the library's West Room.

Homeschool Happenings

Ages 5-15

Home-schooled students in the area are invited for a variety of learning activites, games and stories. Learn something new and interesting in a fun way. This program will be held the third Tuesday of the month from 10-11 am. Program meets February through May and September through November.

Let the games begin! Spend time with friends and solve challenges in this new monthly program open to ages 10 and up that will include a variety of board games. Meets one night each month from 6-10pm. Date varies. Call the library for more information.

Teen Summer Reading-Field Day @ the Library!

Teens who have completed grades 4-11 are invited to join us for some outdoor field day fun, including running races and playing games! Registration is required and will be enabled Thursday, June 23rd.

Arrive early with your record sheet and get your tickets filled out and your coupon prizes collected.

Silent Book Auction
