I have been lucky enough to get my hands on several advanced reader copies of soon-to-be-published teen books.  It is pretty awesome to have a book in your hands that no one else around you will have.  So here are some books that you should really be keeping an eye out for!

Surprising old tech

Last week we invited local teens and families to check out our old (outdated, ancient) technology for Teen Tech Week. Of the dozens of folks who stopped by, some remembered the tech from their own childhoods, others were seeing it for the very first time.

There are several new movies coming out this year based on amazing teen books. If you haven't had a chance to read the books yet, now is the time.

What are you going to do with 2014?

According to hash tags, 2013 was a year of natural disasters, celebrity deaths and blurred social lines. Maybe some of things are better left in the past, but each year as we look back on what happened, we can choose to remember what we want.

Maybe you are looking for inexpensive gift ideas. Try our craft books, or cook books. Nothing says loving like lovin' from the oven, to quote a famous commercial from the 1980s.

Maybe you have cool technology at school or at home, or maybe your only access to technology is an old lab in the basement corner behind the filing cabinets in a disused bathroom with a sign on the door that says “beware of the leopard.” (Can you name that book reference?)
